Naveen K and Raymond Lau from independent agency, Blue Totem Communications, came out ahead of 11 other two-person teams to take the top prize, and they will go on to represent Singapore at Spikes Asia Festival of Creativity.

Participating teams conceptualised, designed, and planned creative communications proposals in under 24 hours to address the public perception challenges faced by Action for AIDS Singapore (AfA), who performed as the “client” in the competition.

AfA is a non-governmental organisation dedicated to fighting AIDS/HIV infection in Singapore. Founded 30 years ago, AfA works towards the goals of zero new infections, zero deaths due to HIV/AIDS related illnesses, and zero discrimination and stigma.

The judges commented that Naveen K and Raymond Lau’s proposed communications campaign, titled “I’m Positive”, which takes an integrated and omnichannel approach to help AfA achieve its goals, was the clear winner. They highlighted that the team brought well-fleshed out tactics to support their campaign idea – showcasing strong insights and creativity.

Andrew Wong MPRCA, Director, Blue Totem Communications, said: “We’re immensely proud of the team and we believe that the local communications profession is only as strong as the practitioners that fuel it. Competitions such as the Young Spikes play an important role in building the next generation of consultants, encouraging creativity and recognising future stewards of our industry.”

Francis Ingham MPRCA, Director General, PRCA, said: “I would like to personally congratulate Naveen and Raymond on their win. We wish them both the best of luck at Spikes Asia where I am sure they will do the industry and Singapore proud.”
