Our client is a leading global travel service provider. Across its platforms, they help travellers and partners with their advanced apps, websites and 24/7 customer service centres. As their overseas business has developed very quickly in 2023, they are now seeking a Public Relations Manager in Japan to respond to media on more public-facing matters in a timely and accurate manner. You will be expected to bring rich local knowledge and a broad network of media contacts that can be incorporated into the overall business strategy of enhancing its brand awareness in Japan.

Key Requirements:

• At least 8 years of relevant work experience within the discipline of Public Relations and/or Corporate Communications for B2C industries e.g. tourism, hospitality, consumer goods etc.
• Native in Japanese language, with proficiency in written and spoken English.
• Generalist Public Relations professional who is familiar with end-to-end of PR responsibilities.
• Strong local Japanese media connections, particularly with business and commerce beats.
• Have prior experience in issues/crisis management.
• Familiar and comfortable working within matrix, flat hierarchy, multi-cultural and international organisations.
• Composed, mature, hands on and able to think of your feet.
• Knows how to brief and guide PR agency partner.
• Willing to travel for work.
• Comfortable being onsite in office 5 days a week.
