Considering World Mental Health day on 10th October, the PRCA SEA will come together to discuss why mental health has become an important topic, what needs to be done to lift the pressure from our shoulders, and what practitioners can do to achieve a better work-life balance and feel happier.

At the beginning of 2020 we were giggling at people making banana bread at home. By May we had mastered it and were now posting step-by-step instructions with our own “unique twist”. Fast forward to today and while we may have slowed down our baking somewhat, the world seems even more chaotic than it did 6 months ago.

The year 2020 has undoubtedly been one of the most challenging years of our lives for people around the world. The convergence of major economic, health and societal issues has put unprecedented strain on the resilience of people across every swathe of our communities – add this to an already high-stress industry like PR and there’s no doubt protecting the mental well-being of those working in our industry is paramount to our future success.

Join us for this virtual event where we’ll continue the conversation on this topic – one that is more relevant to each and every one of us than ever before.

The panel will address:

  • The rise of mental health in the region
  • What factors impact our mental well-being at work
  • How to overcome work related stress
  • The implications of the last six months on ourselves, our teams, our businesses and our industry as we navigate our way into this “new normal”.
  • What we can do for ourselves and our colleagues
  • How companies should tackle the pressure

What mental health support or programmes do my teams need? Are we becoming more empathetic towards mental health challenges due to COVID-19? We’re all struggling to balance life and work in this virtual world – what can I actually do about it? We’ll dive into these questions and many more.
