Charu Srivastava, Joel Lah and Marion Ang launch TriOn & Co, a strategic communications consultancy. The three founders are equally passionate about communications and delivering trusted results for all clients they work with. They share a deep bond and have done excellent work in the past while overcoming challenges. They are now ready to do more and better work with TriOn & Co, a consultancy based on simple premises:

  • To do good work for clients based on the experiences and knowledge the founders’ have amassed over their professional careers
  • To provide personalised and high-quality client servicing by tried and tested methods, lead by proven senior practitioners
  • To create a workplace that respects people as the most valuable assets by driving positive mental health, flexibility and appreciation for each individual

TriOn & Co is founded on the belief that strategic communications can be the game-changer for any company or individual, regardless of industry or location. The consultancy offers tailored communications services and special consultancy projects that are crucial in today’s macroeconomic climate. Such projects include – business restructuring communications for organisations undergoing retrenchment or leadership changes, as well as Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) audit and strategy. TriOn has a regional remit, working with clients across the region through a trusted network of in-market partners.

The founders bring combined experience and knowledge as well as learnings over the various agencies and consultancies they have worked at in their career, and are driven by their passion for doing good work while creating a safe and respectful work environment.

The Founders

Charu Srivastava, Chief Strategy Officer and Corporate Affairs Lead  

Charu brings with her over 14 years of experience in corporate and government affairs locally, regionally and internationally. Charu is an award-winning communications leader who specialises in

  • Cross-border corporate and public affairs
  • Crisis preparedness, response and recovery
  • Media training and relations
  • Stakeholder engagement and management
  • B2B event communications
  • ESG communications

She has an extensive proven track-record working at agencies such as Golin, Bell Pottinger, Freshwater, Burson-Marsteller, Litmus, Redhill as well as in-house at Berwin Leighton Paisner, an international law firm in the UK.

Some of the clients she has advised include the Singapore Business Federation, DBS, BIGO, Victoria Government Trade and Investment, Ministry of Law Singapore, Hitachi, Singapore Post, XL Catlin, Labuan International Financial Centre, and many more.

Charu is the Chair of the inaugural PRCA APAC Equality, Diversity & Inclusion committee, and an accredited member of the Institute of Public Relations of Singapore.

Joel Lah, Chief Research Officer and FinTech Lead

Joel is focused on helping clients anticipate the ever-changing future to build business resilience and agility through trusted insights.

Joel comes with extensive experience leading strategic communications initiatives in the finance and technology space – working with organisations primarily in the Web3, blockchain and finance industry.

He was previously from Redhill and has built an entire fintech PR practice from ground up – onboarding clients in the fintech space, while developing his team’s capabilities to service technical Web3 and crypto accounts.

Before Redhill, Joel worked at Wachsman where he focused exclusively on clients in the Web3 space. His job scope went beyond traditional communications and touched on management consulting and strategic advisory. Prior to that, he worked at RICE Singapore before relocating to Beijing and Hong Kong to support the company’s overseas expansion into Greater China.

Some clients he has counselled include Standard Chartered (SC Ventures), SoftBank Ventures, Vertex Holdings, R3, Block.one, Singapore Business Federation, Prime Minister’s Office (COP27), Robert Bosch, Mongol NFT, BidFX and Zilliqa Capital.

Marion Ang, Chief People Officer and ESG & Government Lead

Marion focuses on leading the firm’s Corporate and ESG practice, and fostering a collaborative and supportive environment for all employees to thrive.

Marion is a seasoned communications professional with broad experience that spans across industries and disciplines. She has represented high-profile multinational companies, startups and government agencies in numerous sectors including B2B, professional services, energy, education, technology and industrial markets, with a focus on thought leadership, corporate reputation building and integrated communications.

Prior to TriOn & Co, Marion completed her tenure at multiple agencies including Burson-Marsteller (now known as BCW), Redhill and Fifth Ring specialising in B2B, corporate and government communications. Some of her past clients include COP27 for the Singapore Prime Minister’s Office, Ministry of Law Singapore, National Youth Council, Schneider Electric, People’s Association, Energy Market Authority and DBS Bank, among others.

She is currently a committee member of the PRCA Asia Workplaces and Culture Group, which advocates for progressive workplace policies, activities and programs.
