ABOUT THE ROLE

Genesis Partners, has been exclusive retained to identify a candidate for a Global Head of External Affairs, for a leading Agriculture and Natural Resources Firm. 
This senior role involves managing global communications, advocacy, corporate affairs and sustainability. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in reputation management and leading communications teams across regions, overseeing both internal and external communications with in-depth knowledge about environmental issues.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and execute reputation and communications strategies across APAC and various other global markets
  • Build and oversee a multi-regional corporate communications team
  • Work closely with sustainability team to support environmental initiatives and ESG issues and ensure practices align with current regulations
  • Act as the primary press contact for the firm corporate affairs, Sustainabilty and policy issues affecting the firm
  • Provide strategic counsel to internal stakeholders on critical issues, brand reputation, and corporate messaging
  • Design and implement innovative communication plans to support business objectives and growth
  • Coordinate with communications teams across the firm’s portfolio of holding companies
  • Oversee regional agencies, and strategic partners
  • Travel as needed to support activities across key markets including trade meetings, speaking engagements etc.

ABOUT THE CANDIDATE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Agri-Science with a business background or a degree in Public Relations, Media Studies, Journalism, Public & Government Affairs, Policy, International Studies etc.
  • Minimum 18-20 years of experience in corporate communications, with a strong background in investor relations, sustainability communications, and crisis/issues management
  • Familiar with environmental policy issues across the region
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication, public speaking, presentation, and organisational skills
  • Deep understanding of digital and social media strategy, content development, and execution
  • Fluency in English is essential; fluency in Chinese or Bahasa is a significant advantage
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative, innovative approach to team leadership
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and lead teams and resources across global regions
