International Women’s Day is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women.
The day also marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity. Significant activity is witnessed worldwide as groups come together to celebrate women’s achievements or rally for women’s equality.

Susie Hughes, Founder, Framework Communications
Susie Hughes is the founder of Framework Communications, a boutique PR and communications consultancy. Susie is a veteran PR practitioner with experience across the US, Europe and Asia and has managed campaigns for technology and corporate businesses of all sizes from start-ups to established brands including Waze (Google), Carousell, Unilever Foundry, General Assembly, SAP Concur, Jungle Ventures, Viber, Financial Times and many more.
Previously, Susie was the Director of Communications for global artificial intelligence company Appier, where she led public relations across APAC, building strategy to cement Appier’s reputation as a leading global enterprise AI company.
Lauren Myers-Cavanagh, Head of Policy Comms, APAC, Twitter
Lauren is Head of Policy Communications for Asia Pacific at Twitter where her focus is on protecting Twitter’s corporate and social license to operate. Her team helps mitigate the implementation of unfavourable and fragmented regulation by both proactively and defensively guarding the company’s reputation against detractors, educating media and influencers about Twitter’s policies, and leveraging promoters to speak on Twitter’s behalf.
Prior to Twitter Lauren spent six years at Edelman where she held various roles, the last of which was Director of Communications & Special Projects for Asia Pacific. Before making the move to Singapore, Lauren was Chief of Staff to UK CEO, Ed Williams. In her years at Edelman, Lauren worked on a number of high stakes corporate reputation, executive profiling, public affairs and issues-based communications campaigns. She values using research and insights to inform communications strategies, and draws on her expertise helming the Edelman Trust Barometer for over five years in two major geographies.
Joanna Ong, Director, Bravery Communications
Joanna is a communications specialist adept at telling a brand story in an integrated fashion, by weaving the narrative through the levers of external and internal communications and engagement, public and media relations, sponsorship, corporate social responsibility, social media and content creation, curation and marketing. She is currently the Director of her own communications practice, Bravery Communications which specializes in strategic communications strategy and planning for all spectrum of clients.
She was recently the Senior Associate Director of Marketing Communications at AIA, lending her brand communications experience to strategic projects at AIA Group.
Marsha Imaniara, General Manager, Maverick Indonesia
Marsha is the Acting General Manager at one of Indonesia’s largest strategic communications consultancy, Maverick Indonesia. She works with clients from a wide array of industries, including tech, lifestyle, aviation, banking, FMCG, and palm oil, and has handled Crisis affecting clients from these industries. Her work with a European fighter jet maker and an education brand has won national and international recognition.
She also trains professionals on the topics of Media Handling, Crisis Management and Presentation Skills, both outside and as part of Maverick.
Emma Dale, Co- Founder and Managing Director (Asia), Prospect
As a specialist recruiter for the PR and Corporate Communications industry, Emma has partnered with clients and supported candidates across Hong Kong, Singapore, Mainland China and South East Asia for more than a decade.
An advocate for the empowerment of women, Emma is an Institute of Executive Coaching and Leadership (IECL)- qualified executive coach. She established Transform Executive Coaching in 2016 and encourages women to follow their passions in life whether they are at a career crossroads, re-entering the professional realm or simply stuck in a rut.
Emma was an active member of The Women’s Foundation in Hong Kong where she was a mentor for two years on their high-profile mentoring programme. Additionally, she is part of a ‘Lean -In Circle’ of 12 business women who meet every month to discuss topics that enables the group members to develop their careers.
Emma relocated back to the U.K. in 2020 and is now based in Cambridge where she continues to lead the Prospect Asia business and her coaching company Transform.
