The UN has called climate change ‘the defining issue of our time, with an impact that is global in scope and unprecedented in scale. Based on its reach and impact, broadcast news media can play a critical role in keeping audiences informed, influencing levels of public concern and encouraging positive behavioural change.
In April, CNBC launched Sustainable Future, giving its influential audience unparalleled and regular access to how big businesses are accelerating their action to tackle climate change. To inform and shape the content, CNBC has assembled an ESG Council, an elite group of business leaders who will share their unique insights into the challenges, opportunities and pathways to a sustainable future.
This event will explore how CNBC and other broadcasters are preparing for COP26. Attendees will learn about new programming and hear first-hand from CNBC’s Tessa McCann about what works and what doesn’t work if considering pitching a story to the leading business and financial news network.
Speakers:
- Dan Stainsby CMPRCA, Broadcast Group Chairman
- Tessa McCann, News Editor, CNBC
- Liv Thwaites, Broadcast Consultant, markettiers
