SINGAPORE , 25 February 2025 – The Public Relations and Communications Association Asia Pacific (PRCA APAC) announces a leadership change for its Diversity, Equality & Inclusion (DE&I) Committee as Charu Srivastava, Co-Founder of TriOn & Co, steps down from her role as Chair after 3 years of leading the committee through significant milestones.
Charu became Chair of the DEI Committee in October 2021 when the Committee was first formed. During her tenure, she successfully spearheaded Committee initiatives and activities that fostered impactful dialogue and action around DE&I and mental health across the Asia-Pacific communications and public relations industry.
Commenting on her decision to step down, Charu said: “I have decided to step down as Chair of the Committee in the very spirit of DE&I and mental health that I champion so passionately. It has been three years since this committee was created and we have achieved so much in these years. From creating and producing monthly podcasts with an excellent line-up of guests to penning and publishing heartfelt bylines to creating and publishing a Charter for the industry. It has been a very fulfilling endeavor to-date and I thank PRCA APAC as well as the committee members for being a part of all that we have achieved and put in motion. It has been an honour to have chaired this committee since its inception. The work that has been done was focused on moving the needle on DEI conversations and developments in the region. I look forward to the committee creating more impact in the industry across APAC.”
The Committee accomplished several impactful initiatives under Charu’s direction and leadership. These include the development of the first ever ‘PRCA APAC Diversity, Equality, and Inclusion (DE&I) Charter’, addressing systemic barriers and guiding industry best practices, launching and running ‘Diversity Matters’ a monthly podcast that featured industry guests and tackled pressing DE&I issues as well as production of powerful thought leadership content aimed at fostering DE&I awareness and progress within the industry.
In expressing gratitude for Charu’s contributions, Ed Burleigh, Head of PRCA APAC, said: “We are so thankful to Charu for her unwavering commitment to this group and her invaluable insights, which have been fundamental to advancing DE&I and mental health initiatives in the region. Her leadership has been instrumental in shaping the committee’s progress and her legacy will continue to inspire future efforts. We wish her all the best in her future endeavours.”
