Richard Andrew serves as Co-Chair of Asia Pacific at Edelman Global Advisory (EGA). With 25 years of professional experience in Asia, Mr Andrew co-leads the firm, advising multi-national clients from diverse sectors on navigating their public affairs and government relations advocacy efforts across Asia’s diverse governmental, political, and societal landscapes.

A seasoned public affairs practitioner, Mr. Andrew has partnered and advised clients on managing specific issues and sectors, and specializes in designing, building, and advising multi-stakeholder business groupings. He has helmed the Executive Directorship of several pan-Asia regional industry/trade associations. During his tenure in Asia, Mr Andrew has worked in senior regional in-house and advisory roles across various industries, including fintech, biotech, travel, energy efficiency, crypto, and logistics.

 

Mr Andrew’s corporate roles include building and leading MasterCard’s Public Policy Team for Asia Pacific and leading Deutsche Post DHL’s advocacy agenda in North East and South East Asia. He also held advisory and commercial roles at PwC and JETRO, an ‘independent administrative institution’ of Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade & Industry (METI). Mr Andrew has served as Executive Director for several regional industry associations representing multinational corporations’ collective interests to Asian governments.

Mr Andrew holds a Masters in Climate Change from the Crawford School of Public Policy (“Australia’s Kennedy School”) at the Australian National University (ANU), where he also attained his Bachelors with Honours in Political Science and Asian Studies. He is a member of EuroCham, AmCham, AustCham, the Sustainable Energy Association of Singapore (SEAS). He sits on the Singapore Alumni Ambassador Council for the ANU’s College of Asia & the Pacific.

He lives and works from his South East Asia home base of Singapore with his spouse and children who are all South East Asia born and, like Mr Andrew, long-term Singapore PRs.
