Ong Hock Chuan’s first 14 years of his career was spent as a journalist in Malaysia, Hong Kong and Indonesia where he learned to make anything complex sound simple; anything simple sound important. In 1998 he brought those skills to head Ogilvy PR in Indonesia and then in Singapore. In 2002 he returned to Jakarta and started Maverick which is today the largest independent PR consultancy in Indonesia. He’s currently absorbed in how to finesse PR‘s ability to build social capital for clients across the PESO spectrum and creating a social enterprise within Maverick.
