Bangkok, Thailand- 11th May 2023 – The Bangkok-based chapter of the PRCA – the world’s largest professional PR body representing more than 35,000 PR professionals in 70 countries – has today announced the first PRCA Thailand Award winners. The award recognised the most outstanding PR campaigns, teams and individuals across 12 categories. The ceremony was held at Bangkok Marriott Marquis Queen’s Park on the evening of 10th May.
PRCA Thailand was established in 2021 with two objectives: to build the professional competence of the PR and Communications community in Thailand and ensure the voice of the PR and communications industry is recognised and heard within the Thailand economy. It also aims to provide professional training, events, information, support, and advice to practising PR and communications professionals in Thailand.
PRCA Thailand Awards is the first award in Thailand dedicated to the public relations business. The Awards celebrated the incredible work over the last year, promoting all aspects of public relations and communications work, helping teams and individuals maximise the value they deliver to clients and organisations. Locally unique campaigns were judged by local professionals familiar with Thai cultures and consumer behaviour.
The evening included leading PR specialists from Thailand featuring incredible communication innovations that set industry standards. The nominations were submitted by Thai-based parties involved in the use of PR and communications; PR consultancies, freelancers, in-house communications departments, digital agencies, media owners, and university students. These submissions were judged by some of the biggest names from renowned PR agencies, communications organisations and journalism, meaning that winning one of these awards truly recognises leading-edge PR and communications work.
Karin Lohitnavy, Chair of the PRCA Thailand, said: “Some amazing work is brought to life in Thailand every year, and it deserves to be celebrated. I am very happy that with the launch of the PRCA Thailand Awards, we can now shine the limelight on these great achievements. Congratulations to the finalists and the winners on having your work recognised by the world’s largest PR and communications professional body!”
The evening saw Vivaldi Public Relations take home the Consultancy Award, Rabbit’s Tale Public Relations (Moonshot Digital) won the Corporate Social Responsibility Award. The PR Leader of the Year Award was given to Vorasit Turongsomboon, and Tanwarat “Minnie” Tiyapongprapan won the Young Communicator Award.
Tavy Cussinel, Managing Director of Redhill, said: “Many businesses recognise the importance of PR in their strategies. As reliance on effective PR and communications increases, it’s become vital to standardise the quality of PR in the Thai market and demonstrate the value of our contribution with results-orientated measurement.
“We’re thrilled to receive the Consumer Campaign or Event/Launch Award- it’s a testament to the hard work and dedication of the team to producing world-class work that helps set the bar for success in the market.”
We would like to extend a special thank you to our host of the evening Chanika Chawong, to our sponsors and to our illustrious panel of judges who had their work cut out the best of talent from a crème flow of achievers and select this year’s finalists.
