SINGAPORE,17th October 2024 – The Public Relations and Communications Association Asia Pacific (PRCA APAC) today announced the relaunch of its Sustainability Group, a regional initiative designed to elevate the role of sustainability in PR and communications. With a fresh focus and a newly appointed committee, the group will aim to promote industry standards and practices whilst building knowledge and equipping PR professionals to deliver compelling and responsible sustainability communications.
The group aims to offer PR professionals the opportunity to hear from experts who will share best practices, discuss the role of communications in advancing the uptake of sustainability solutions, and explore topical issues in accessible formats. By bringing together diverse voices, the group will foster an environment where practitioners can learn from each other and explore the critical responsibility of communication professionals in advancing the fight against climate change. The new committee members include:
- Marta Sousa Bigio (Chair), SVP Sustainability Lead, Weber Shandwick
- Pranav Rastogi (VC), Head Communications, Grow Asia
- Meilin Wong, Partner & CEO, Milk & Honey PR
- Charlotte Tan, Account Director and Head of Operations, Singapore, RICE Communications
- Lin Kuek, Managing Director, Singapore, and Head of Sustainability Communications, ASEAN, Vero
- Katharina Wolf, Associate Professor & Public Relations Lead, Curtin University
- Ferdinand Bondoy, Regional Integration & CEO, COMCO Southeast Asia
Marta Bigio, Chair of the Sustainability Group, said: “Climate change is one of the most significant communication challenges of our time. The PRCA was founded in 1969 and launched the PRCA Asia Pacific in 2021 which replaced the PRCA Southeast Asia, launched in 2018. The association aims to raise standards in PR and communications, providing members with industry data, facilitating the sharing of communications best practices, and creating networking opportunities.
