Aiming to elevate the strategic impact of PR across APAC, the Network brings together strategists, researchers, and planners in the region’s communications landscape

SINGAPORE, 16th August 2024 – Asia Pacific’s premier industry body for public relations practitioners PRCA APAC today announced the launch of a new Strategy & Insights Network, which aims to deeply embed strategic thinking and insights-led planning into the professional fabric of PRCA members and the industry at large.

The founding members of the Strategy & Insights Network include a diverse mix of consultants, in-house practitioners, and specialists who bring years of expertise in research and media intelligence, brand and message planning, as well as growth marketing. These include (in alphabetical order):

Agung S. Ongko, Partner & Director, Strategy & Insights at RICE
Daisy Sidhu, Communications Lead, Malaysia at Grab
Jenna Mills, Head of Strategy, AKA Asia
Joshua Wang, Associate Vice President, Brand & Market Intelligence, FINN Partners Asia
Meredith Carson, Founder & CEO, Growth Ensemble
Sabrina Azmi, Research Solutions Director, CARMA

Ongko, who chairs the Network, said: “For too long, PR practitioners have been boxed into an executional role, and sometimes our function is thought of as an ‘add-on’ to larger integrated campaigns. The reality is that our insights on media dynamics and the cultural pulse position us uniquely to influence business strategy and boardroom conversations. This is why promoting best practices in strategy and insights has become more important than ever for our profession.”

The PRCA APAC Strategy & Insights Network will focus on providing members with insights into the latest trends, research methodologies, and innovative tools to guide strategic planning and decision-making in communications. It is also committed to nurturing talent in strategy by equipping more PR professionals with the relevant planning and research skills.

PR practitioners across the region can look forward to a content series on the full spectrum of strategic communications planning, as well as a regular digest on industry insights and research practices that will enhance the way communications campaigns and reputation management are conducted. More details will be released through PRCA APAC channels, so interested communications and PR practitioners are encouraged to sign up to be PRCA APAC members and follow the industry body’s official channels.
