PRCA APAC and We. Communications Host Executive Briefing in Malaysia
On 25 June 2025, senior communications leaders gathered at Le Méridien Kuala Lumpur for an exclusive executive briefing and networking lunch hosted by PRCA APAC in partnership with We. Communications. The event centred around We.‘s The Future of Communications report – an in-depth exploration of the evolving trends reshaping the marketing and communications landscape.
The session started with an introduction from Ed Burleigh, Head of PRCA APAC, who shared PRCA’s mission to extend its influence and value across Malaysia and the APAC region:
“Malaysia is a key market for PRCA APAC with several exciting initiatives planned here this year. It was fantastic to partner with We. Communications on this event and we look forward to future collaboration.”
Nichole Provatas, International Head of Integrated Marketing at We., then gave a short presentation before taking on the role of moderator for the panel discussion featuring: Surinder Jessy, Marketing & Communications Consultant, Mastura Mansor, Chief Foresight & Transformation Strategist, Invictus Leader, and Kanesan Veluppillai, Managing Director, Chase Advisors.
The session unpacked key themes such as:
- How brands in Southeast Asia need to move from reacting to anticipating.
- The rise of hyperlocal storytelling, social-first news consumption, and the changing role of thought leadership.
- AI’s impact on comms – from transforming newsrooms with automated content and virtual anchors to reshaping influencer models and brand narratives.
The panel brought invaluable local perspectives, tackling questions like: How do we build trust when misinformation is a business risk? And how do brands evolve content strategies for Gen Z and Gen Alpha’s new digital behaviours?
Attendees wrapped up the morning with a networking lunch connecting with peers, exchanging ideas and forging new partnerships.
