Melissa Shawyer is co-founder and managing director of The PR Group, an award-winning independent communications agency that works with future-forward brands whose bold visions are helping to reimagine the future.
Founded on the belief that through effective communications, real change is possible, The PR Group’s storytelling methodology helps startups and enterprises unlock the essence of their brands to build reputation, influence and further the adoption of emerging technologies.
With over 20 years experience in corporate communications having led communications teams for major companies such as NAB, KPMG, Avanade, Medibank Private, before co-founding The PR Group, Melissa works with boards and senior leadership teams on building and executing communication programs around key corporate milestones as well as oversees The PR Group’s operations in international markets Singapore and New Zealand.
Melissa has also worked as a mentor to startups at various stages in their growth journey and works as a volunteer for not for profit animal charities Vets for Compassion and Animals Australia.
