AMEC and PRCA announce joint membership drive

Speaking at this week’s AMEC Global Summit in Prague, Johna Burke, Global Managing Director, AMEC, and Francis Ingham MPRCA, Director General, PRCA announced a joint membership drive to embed even greater links between evaluation experts and PR practitioners, and to advance even further the two organisations’ common goals.

Under an agreement reached between the two bodies, AMEC and PRCA members will be encouraged to join both organisations, with a significant discount for those joining the other organisation for the first time.

AMEC Associate Membership for newly-joining PRCA members will be discounted from £895 a year to £695 a year.

PRCA Associate Membership for newly-joining AMEC members will be discounted from £1,500 a year to £750 a year.

The two organisations have agreed to promote membership to their respective networks over the coming months.

Johna Burke said: “Starting this year, PRCA members who complete the AMEC certificate will earn points on the PRCA CPD programme. This special membership offer will also extend additional savings to organisations investing in the professional development of their teams. The PRCA has always been a hard-working partner of AMEC’s, helping us to emphasise the importance of ongoing education – and this joint membership drive carries on our joint mission to improve evaluation practices.”

Francis Ingham said: “The PRCA sees no greater strategic goal than embedding ever-more sophisticated evaluation amongst our members; and has no stronger strategic partner than AMEC. In encouraging our respective members to join the other organisation, we can pursue our common objectives even more powerfully than before. I strongly encourage every PRCA member to show their commitment to our industry’s future by joining AMEC.”

Practitioners looking to take advantage of the offer can contact Steve Miller, PRCA Partnerships and Membership Director; or Johna Burke, Global Managing Director, AMEC.

About the PRCA

Who we are: Founded in 1969, the Public Relations and Communications Association (PRCA) is a UK-based PR and communications membership body, operating in 66 countries around the world. Representing in excess of 30,000 people, the PRCA is the largest PR membership association in the world. The PRCA promotes all aspects of public relations and communications work, helping teams and individuals maximise the value they deliver to clients and organisations.

What we do: The Association exists to raise standards in PR and communications, providing members with industry data, facilitating the sharing of communications best practice and creating networking opportunities.

How we do it and make a difference: All PRCA members are bound by a professional charter and codes of conduct, and benefit from exceptional training. The Association also works for the greater benefit of the industry, sharing best practice and lobbying on the industry’s behalf e.g. fighting the NLA’s digital licence.
